Submit Your Blog At Baidu.com

With over 1.3 billion people, China has the world’s largest population and accordingbaidu logo, baidu.com logo to a Forbes report, China surpasses US in internet use. Reaching over 162 million internet users as of June 2007, China has the world’s second largest internet population. A statistics that can’t be ignored by online entrepreneurs. Given the enormous number of internet users, it is therefore not surprising to find out that Baidu.com, China’s most popular search engine, is ranked as the 5th most popular website in the world. The fact is, there are more people who are using Baidu, than Yahoo, MSN Live and Ask to search the internet. Hence, appearing from Baidu’s search result is a great potential source of traffic to your blog. Today’s post answers why and how you should submit your blog at Baidu.com.

Why Should You Submit Your Blog To Baidu.com?

Probably, you don’t care submiting to Baidu for several reasons. Firstly, Baidu.com is a Chinese search engine and most Chinese don’t understand English. Since your blog is written in English, it will be of no use to them. Secondly, your target readers are from a certain geographic location (e.g. United States of America, United Kingdom). And lastly, you don’t understand Chinese so probably you won’t understand the submission procedures of Baidu.

Since China has embraced globalization, it has welcomed foreign languages especially English. As China prepares to host the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Chinese government launched a massive campaign to teach English to its citizens. Assuming that the trend of studying English continues in China, China will soon be the largest English speaking country in the world.

Regarding targeting specific geographic location, I don’t see any reason why you should deprive your blog of traffic from other countries especially from regions where the Alexa toolbar is widely used. Submitting your blog to Baidu.com will take you less than 1 minute. Simply enter your blog’s URL and a enter the verification code and you’re done. That’s how easy it is.

Simple Steps In Submitting Your Blog To Baidu.com

  1. CLICK HERE to submit your blog/website.
  2. Enter your blog’s URL just like it’s shown in the picture. Enter the verfication code and hit the gray button.
enter your URL and verification code then hit the gray button
  3. You should see this message confirming that you’ve submitted your blog’s URL successfully.
    successful submission to baidu.com

Now that you’re done, you will have to wait for Baidu’s crawler to visit and index your blog or you can submit your blog to other search engines.

5 Link Optimization Techniques

The most effective search engine optimization strategy is to build more inbound links to your blog. As more inbound links are accumulated, it’s search engine ranking goes up. This could lead to a higher traffic from search engines. And because traffic is the lifeblood of every blog, bloggers are doing all possible methods to build more inbound links and jack-up their position in the search engine result pages.

1. Make Sure It’s DOFOLLOW

When link building, make sure that the links are dofollow, otherwise, they won’t count. Dofollow links are links that don’t have the rel=”nofollow” attribute on them. I recently compiled a list of dofollow blogs, dofollow bookmarking sites, dofollow social media, dofollow top commentators and free directories to make your link building much more convenient.

2. Build Links From Relevant Websites

Building links to boost your search engine ranking and Google page rank is not a question of quantity but of quality. And by quality, I mean relevance.

It is therefore better to get a few links from relevant websites than tons of links but from unrelated websites. In simple words, if your blog is all about body building, then it is better to get links from other blogs or websites about body building.

3. Use Keywords As Anchor Text

Anchor text is the text contained in a link. It is called anchor text because it links one “anchor” to another “anchor” in the World Wide Web.

When building links, make sure to use your keywords as the anchor text. These keywords should be the terms you wish to be found when people use search engines. For better SEO result, include your keywords in your blog’s title tag and domain name (if possible).

4. Google Page Rank

I know that some people will disagree with me but Google page rank still matters. Otherwise, Google should have just dissed out page rank as a factor in their search engine ranking algorithm.

Other than looking for relevant websites and using appropriate keywords as anchor text, it should be worth while to build links from dofollow and relevant websites with high Google page rank.

5. Less External Links, The Better

When link building, choose to get links from websites with fewer external links on them. The more external links, the lesser the link juice you get. As a general rule, don’t build links from websites with more than 100 external links on them.

How To Improve Your Alexa Traffic Rank?

Although a lot of bloggers and webmasters will argue that Alexa Traffic Ranking is not an accurate representation of your blog’s actual traffic rank, it’s still very important because most advertisers depend on it to measure the value of a blog. If you are one of those people interested in monetizing your blog, then you should work in improving your blog’s Alexa Traffic Rank.

There are three possibilities that might increase the number of Alexa users who visit your site.

First, you will want to see that your site is properly categorized in our Directory so it may be easily found by our users. The Directory (browse subjects) on www.alexa.com is a copy of the Open Directory (www.dmoz.org).

To add your site to the Open Directory, go to www.dmoz.org, find the category your site should be listed in, and click the “suggest URL” link at the top of the page. We highly recommend reading their submission guidelines first at:

    http://dmoz.org/add.html/

Adding or changing your site through the Open Directory is the most efficient way to modify your listing, as the Open Directory is used on thousands of major sites across the web (like Google and Netscape).

Secondly, you can submit your site as a Related Link for sites with similar content. Go to http://info.alexa.com/data/details/editor?type=rl/ and enter the URL of the site whose related links you wish to be included in. Enter your email address and your URL in one of the empty boxes, and then press submit. These submissions are reviewed by an Alexa editor for relevance before appearing in the service (with our current load, approximately 8 weeks if approved). We do not guarantee that we will accept or display these submissions.

Finally, you may also want to promote the Alexa Toolbar to your users. If your regular users choose to download Alexa, that may lead to more Alexa visits and a higher ranking. You can learn more about this at:

    http://pages.alexa.com/prod_serv/associatetoolbar.html/

Submitting your blog to the Open Directory Project (DMOZ) on the other hand which is used by Alexa will usually take sometime. Submitting your blog to the Open Directory Project does not only improve your Alexa Traffic Rank but it also improves your blog’s search engine ranking. I’ve made an article about how to improve your blog’s search engine ranking by submitting to the Open Directory Project (DMOZ) that you might be interested of. The post summarizes some of the key aspects of the submission process that you should know before attempting to submit your blog.

    Blog Traffic For Beginners

Traffic is one of the reasons that keeps bloggers motivated. Traffic is so valuable that it could mean your blog's failure without it. For those who have just started blogging, building traffic is the second priority next to building great contents. But how exactly can a beginner generate traffic to his or her blog?

There are three possible sources of traffic for any blogs namely; search engines, referrals from other websites/blogs and or paid traffic. For beginners, which among the possible blog traffic sources is ideal? To answer this question, let's first have an overview of each traffic sources.

    Traffic From Search Engines

Most of the traffic in the blogosphere is generated by search engines. Search engines like Google, Windows Live, Ask etc. are widely used by the netizens to search for specific information. Search engines when used refers websites or blogs that potentially contain the information being searched. Because of the significant roles of search engines in building traffic to a blog or website, search engine optimization became an important element in successful blogging.

    Paid Traffic

For those who have the finance, paid traffic is a good and easy way to increase your blog's traffic. However, since it's paid, the
cost increases depending on your traffic requirement. Adwords and Text Link Ads are some examples of companies that provides paid traffic services.

As beginners in blogging, I don't encourage you to jump into buying traffic yet. Since your blog is relatively new, I assume that your blog has few content. I suggest that you build content for your blog first before you avail of any paid traffic services. This will ensure that your visitors will have sufficient articles to read when they visit your blog.

    Traffic From Referrals

As I've said it before on my previous
post, traffic referral from other blogs or websites is your best shot if you have just started blogging.

In order to increase blog traffic from referrals, links to your blog from other blogs or website should be made available. There are several ways to do this. Here are some of my previous articles you can read that provides you with good information on building traffic to your blog.

Why Buy And Use Thesis Premium Wordpress Theme?

When I started to take blogging seriously, the first thing I had in mind was to find the best Wordpress theme to match my blog. And I don’t just want any Wordpress theme. I wanted a Premium Wordpress theme for the reasons that most free Wordpress themes lacked search engine optimization, are not well designed and makes branding more difficult.

Because of the too huge selection of Wordpress theme available online that are claimed by their designers to be of top quality, choosing a Wordpress theme has become even more difficult. In my experience, I bought three Premium Wordpress Themes but ended up not using any of them. Instead, I found Thesis Premium Wordpress Theme designed by Chris Pearson and have used it ever since. After using it for quite awhile, I am most certainly satisfied with its positive impact on my blog.

What’s with Thesis Premium Wordpress Theme? What makes it different and powerful from the rest? And why should you buy your own copy and use it in your blog?

Creating A Website Specifically to Earn AdSense Revenue

Building a website to earn Google AdSense advertising revenue has become a popular way to make extra money online nowadays. It is easier to earn AdSense income versus generating sales by selling products or services online. However it does involve works, time and money before you start earning from Adsense program and not only that, you have to exert lots of effort too. Below are few steps on creating a content website for earning AdSense revenue.

Step 1 - Decide the content of your website. You can write a topic or subject related to your interest, hobbies or experience. You can also provide educational information and advice on your website if you are expert at something.

Step 2 - Use a website builder to create your website. One of the easy-to-use website builders that can help you build a website is Bluevoda website builder. Bluevoda site builder allows users to build a website without technical knowledge. You don’t need to build your site from scratch. The trick is to use a free professional template provided by the site builder and then start adding your text and links to your website. You can add some graphics and pictures to make your site look nicer. After completing your website project, your next step is register a domain name and sign up for a hosting account to publish your website on the Internet.

Step 3 - Join Google AdSense program. It will usually take several days for Google AdSense team to review and approve your site. If Google accepts your application. You can start learning how to generate AdSense code for inserting to your website to generate Adsense revenue. If your site rejected by Google, don’t get upset easily. Google will let you know the reasons of the rejection. You can fix the problems and reapply again.

Step 4 - You need to drive targeted Visitors/Traffic to your website to generate Adsense revenue. The higher your website’s traffic the greater your Adsense earning will be. Below are some of the ways that can help you drive some traffic to your website in short period of time.
    • 1) Use Per-per-click (PPC) advertising. The two most popular PPC search engines are Google and Yahoo. Google and Yahoo can deliver instant traffic to your website but it is costly to advertise on Google and Yahoo. There are other alternatives like Bidvertise.com and Clicksor.com which are cheaper to advertise with.
    • 2) Introduce your site to your family and friends.
    • 3) Write several articles with a link to your website on the resource box and submit them to article directories. You can find a list of article directories by going to Google and entering the search term 'article directory'.
    • 4) Post messages on community forums with a link to your site on the signature of each message posted.

    Make Money Online with Clicksor

Clicksor.com is an alternetive of Adsense. If you prefer not using Adsense or have stopped using Adsense on your website, You may consider Clicksor. Clicksor offers webmasters the opportunity to earn income by simply underlining a selection of clickable text or displaying targeted contentual banner on their websites.

Clicksor's payout is lower ($20 payout, pay via Paypal) as compared to Adsense and they claim that publishers earn 70% of what advertisers pay per click. However due to their smaller advertiser network, the pay per click and click through rate aren't high as Google.

You can make more money than AdSense if you join Clicksor's generous affiliate program too. They pay 10% commission for each advertiser or publisher you refer. The commission is calculated on daily basis, base on the referred advertiser daily spending or the referred publisher's daily earning.

    Make Money At Home

One of the largest perks of online surveys is that you can do it all from the comfort of your own home. Taking online surveys from home is a great idea and is a stress free way to earn some extra spending money. There is no right or wrong way to answer the questions on the surveys. You simply fill out the surveys with your own opinion.

Best of all, online survey sites do not require the consumer to have prior training or any specialized skills. All you need to have is the internet and the ability to answer questionnaires giving your honest and unbiased opinion for what you are being asked.

When you work from home you can plan around your schedule. You hold your own time. If you are a morning person, then be a morning person. If you like to sleep till noon and stay up all night, then answer the surveys in the middle of the night. There are no set hours for you to conform to. Most online surveys take between five to fifteen minutes for you to complete. Since you can get up and walk away from the computer when needed, filling out surveys will not disrupt your daily routine. Another advantage is there is no time limit. There are no set hours that you must be free to work or you’ll lose your job. Sick days are accepted. Want to go on vacation? Then go for it. It's your own, your holding your own time.

If you are looking for an easy time efficient way to make some extra cash from your own home, then online survey will be a step in the right direction.

    Types of Paid Surveys

When deciding to pursue paid online surveys, you may not know exactly what to expect. There are several different types of surveys, and you will probably encounter every type of survey in your new part-time job filling out surveys.

    These are some types:

Focus Groups - Focus groups are chat sessions, sometimes conducted by typing and sometimes with voice software or by telephone. You and a group of other people will answer questions and give opinions on a particular topic. Discussion groups are much like focus groups.

Product Reviews - A favorite among survey takers is the product review. You may be asked to review a product which the company will send you. Sometimes you are allowed to keep the product, which makes this a very popular survey form. You may also be asked to review products you already own, which is not as exciting, but is still a nice source of income.

Online Surveys - The most common type of survey is just the plain vanilla online survey, in which you fill out multiple-choice, true/false or short answer questions. Many market research firms use these simple surveys, some short and some longer, to conduct research for their clients.

Mail / Phone Surveys - Some research firms also use mail and phone surveys to conduct research for their clients. You will sign up for these surveys online, and then participate by mailing in a survey form or taking part in a telephone survey.

Product Testing - Another popular form of survey is the taste test. These surveys are obviously not conducted entirely online, but you may sign up for a taste test through your regular survey companies online, and then take the taste test at a location near you.

    Make Money with Paid Survey

Make money with paid survey, is it just a scam or non-sense. Well, there are actually lots of reputable market research and consumer companies welcome people to become their members to earn cash participating in their online survey. It is a legitimate way on making money online. In addition, Paid survey is very popular, there are more than a 100,000 people searching for paid surveys every month in Yahoo as recorded in Overture Search tool.

However, the downsides of paid survey is that you will not know how much amount of money you make every month. The companies only send paid survey invitations to you if you are eligible. If you receive more surveys in the month, you'll earn more. The biggest problem is that most paid surveys only available to US residents, so people outside US will find it very hard to make money with paid survey.

    Start Earning with Paid Survey:
    • Creating a new e-mail account would be a good idea, specially for receiving paid survey invitations. You can use Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail and other free email services. This will make finding your survey invitations easier compare to using an existing email that receives plenty of mails daily. But if you want to use your existing one, it's up to you.
    • You can go to Yellowsurveys.com to sign up with as many online market research companies as possible as you want. The site compiled a long list of market research companies that offer paid surveys. Sign up with the companies in "Most Popular" category first and then continue to join the rest. This can take few days of work and effort.
    • Wait for paid survey invitations send to you. It can take fews days to months to receive your first survey invitation. Do not rely on paid survey as your main source of income. It can only be a way of earning extra money.
    • Get Paid with your surveys. The best part is to get paid for the surveys. You won't get paid immediately after answering the survey, this is done once the survey has been completely closed, so it could take around 2 weeks to get paid for the surveys, but once you take surveys on a daily basis and you have payments being made every week this won't be a problem
